What's Happening at the Library!
The library is open and we're happy to be providing in-person services once again. We're taking steps to provide the safest environment we possibly can for our visitors and staff. More information about steps the library is taking and guidelines for visitors are available here. We're looking forward to seeing you back in the library to browse the shelves but we'll ask you not to return books to the shelves after you've looked at them so we can keep them isolated before returning them to circulation. Computers will be available but we won't have as many due to distancing concerns. In order to make computers available to as many people as possible, computer use will be limited to one hour and appointments are recommended. The library will have capacity limits in place, including a limit of one person or family in the children's and teen rooms at one time. We'll be using just the entrance from the parking lot so we can monitor how many people are in the building. We're also asking that visitors limit their stay to just one hour to be able to accommodate as many people as possible in the building throughout the day.
Visitors will be required to wear masks and maintain a 6 ft. distance from staff and other visitors while in the library. Public restrooms will remain closed. We've had to remove some of the items in the building that are frequently touched like newspapers, magazines, puzzles and games. All the details are available on our website and will be posted at the library entrance.
The library's Quick Pickup service will continue and patrons are encouraged to use this service as a fast and easy way to get their library materials. To schedule a pickup, call the library at 304-627-2236. If you place holds through the library's catalog, you'll have the option to request pickup service when your holds are ready. In addition to library materials you can also request tax forms for pickup.
As always, our eLibrary is available 24/7. If you need assistance, library staff will be happy to help you with our eLibrary services. All you need is your library card to access books, audiobooks, magazines, music, movies, and online learning from wherever you are.
The CDC recommendations for Personal and Social Activities include information about library use and encourage use of pickup services and digital library services. If you're new to using the Quick Pickup service or eLibrary, library staff will be happy to help.
